Why is a Lithium Battery for Ice Fishing Better than Lead Acid Batteries?
Experienced fishermen know that lithium batteries for ice fishing are superior to lead acid batteries by leaps and bounds. Here is a list of the main reasons why a lithium battery for ice fishing is the much better buy compared to lead acid batteries:
Cost - We all know that a lead acid battery has a cheaper price tag. But the truth of the matter is that in the long run they cost you significantly more money and fail to provide full peace of mind because they are not as reliable in cold weather. Cost is almost always a key deciding factor for most ice fishermen. If you plan to spend less than 24 hours out on the ice, your battery is in a warm environment, and you don’t need to provide power to many applications or devices, then you may be able to get away with one. However, for multiple days where you intend to use large scale stationary applications, and you really want full power and range, lithium batteries are by far the better option.
In addition, lithium batteries don't contain corrosive acid, so there is zero risk they will leak and damage your components in the middle of your ice fishing trip. After all, the last thing you need is for the heater to conk out, or for your fish finder to stop working. With lithium batteries by Enduro Power, you can put the stress of wondering if these problems will happen to bed and enjoy your trip having full confidence in your power supply.
Why Choose an Enduro Power Lithium Battery for Ice Fishing Over Other Brands?
First, always select a top name brand lithium battery for ice fishing. Sure, there are cheaper ones on Amazon, but these are no-name brands with half the charge hold, and they simply aren’t engineered using the best technology. So, now that we have established that name brand lithium batteries are the better buy due to superiority, what makes Enduro Power the “best of the best”?
At Enduro Power, we power your adventure from the first crack of morning to late into the night with superior batteries built to take the abuse that comes from harsh winter weather. Our lithium chemistry is designed to harness the most power in the harshest conditions, and to help you enjoy ice fishing in total comfort for as long as you plan to stay in the icy embrace of Mother Nature, while cozy and fully equipped with all the gadgets you need to thrive. Simply put, Enduro Power builds a better battery.
Lithium batteries for ice fishing also charge faster. Typically, it takes lead acid batteries more than 10 hours to charge, and in cold weather they can have a challenging time charging to full capacity. In contrast, Enduro Lithium batteries can fully charge within two to three hours, to a matter of minutes, based on the size of your batteries. Our lithium batteries accept a faster rate of current, charging quicker than most competing brands, and this is critical for time-sensitive moments which can surface at any given time.
Enduro Power lithium batteries for ice fishing give you more than twice the run time of other battery brands for your ice fishing configuration, fish finder, heating sources, cooking supplies, lighting, and any other gadgets you may need to bring, including solar panels, Internet hotspot equipment, and anything else. Enduro Power batteries can perform below -40 F, and our batteries are lighter in weight and smaller in size, giving you more freedom for building custom battery banks based on your unique needs.
Cutting Your Hole for Ice Fishing
People new to ice fishing try virtually every cutting tool you can think of from chainsaws to an ax. However, an auger is without a doubt the best tool. If you are new to ice fishing a power auger may be out of your budget, so consider a hand auger, as they tend to run between $40 and $70, and can get you through the ice if you aren’t afraid to put a little muscle into it. Hand augers are equipped with an offset handle allowing a person to drill with one hand while steading the tool with the other. You always want to try to keep the hole-cutting process as simple as possible, so if you do get a hand auger, experienced ice fishermen seem to favor a six-inch strike master lazer auger until the ice strikes with-inch thickness. Then the needle must be replaced to drill down as straight as possible which makes cutting much easier. You can also use a spud bar, which runs around $20 to $30, and is excellent for digging in.
Most ice fishermen plan for eight-inch holes, so start creating a 16-inch hole and as you dig the hole will get increasingly narrower. Just be sure to dig straight down in a circular motion to form a “button”, then strike it at an angle to pop it out of the water.
Make sure your ice fishing holes are spaced out by five or six feet apart, and check with your local Department of Natural Resources or Forestry to ensure conditions on the ice are safe.
